EVALUATION

Things that coaches may be evaluating besides lacrosse skills:

  • Ability to listen and follow direction.
  • Ability to stay focused during drills (no horseplay while standing in line, no cutting in line, paying attention, completes the drills properly - doesn’t cheat running to the line)
  • Consistently being in the right position - this is usually achieved by good hustle and paying attention.
  • Good communication on the floor
  • Commitment to the team/session
  • Positive attitude and good sportsmanship

TEAM SELECTION

  • Teams will be posted on this page after tryout sessions are complete.
  • Players not selected for an A (Tier 1) team, will attend balancing session for B (Tier 2) where two teams will be formed.
  • If a player cannot attend all tryout sessions, then players will be allocated to B team.
  • Players who change position (goalie to runner/runner to goalie) who are unable to make tryouts will be allocated to B team.
  • Coaches reserve the right to set a team at 12 players with 2 flexible spaces to be set after balancing sessions for B teams.
  • In the event of a medical exception (with documentation) to attendance at tryouts:
    • Previous players will be evaluated based on level of play in the previous year
